Pittsburgh MCG - Kristen - Day 3

Today was our ‘Wildlife’ day. First animal we saw was deer (we thought an elk at first). We were heading to our hiking trail and we spotted some actual elk on a hill, it looked like they were mostly female. We saw a Bison down by a river that Keith spotted (he thought it was a bear butt). Then we kept seeing a lot of bison, I mean herds of them. When we finally got to our hiking spot Jess gave us some bear safety tips. After a lot of uphill hiking we reached out lunch spot and had lunch. After we ate our lunch we did a project about bison leaving the park during winter and the fact that they have a disease that can be spread to female cows and make them abort their babies. After the hike we went back to the bus and headed back to the cabin to get a shower and for dinner. After dinner and a very intensive game of spoons we left to go see a photographer. After that we came back and started tomorrow’s breakfast, lunch and dinner.
