There are times when sound is the most important of all.
Words that express what lie in our hearts, words that tell what we never could
by simply existing. Words tell a life. And today, I learned a life. Her name is
Sarah, and she came here to refresh her life. She’s here for two months to
remember life’s purpose. The experience has changed her life forever. Talking
to her has changed my life forever.

Pittsburgh MCG - Nikki - Day 2
And all the world here is a stark silence, a melody of
soundlessness. But this quiet place was so loud in Time. It was the roar of
eruptions, the slip of fiery magma, the whoosh of sliding seas and the periods
of quiet when molten rock is setting to create this lush, green land that is
now Yellowstone. It’s silent when we stood atop the whole world, it seemed,
and peered down upon Grand Prismatic. The spring was a rainbow of the purest
colors, shades and hues that break your heart.
We are all engraved into the park. We cut into
it, and as it bleeds beauty into our memory, we leave nothing but our own
secret thoughts. We all pass by unnoticed, leaving no trail, but as we will
never forget these days, we leave our metaphorical mark on the very mountains
we intend to climb. The gravity of being here leaves me without words.
