Cincinnati CATC - Keishawn - Day 3

Today was a pretty good day. A little bit crazy, but good. We went down to Lamar Valley to see some wildlife. Then we hiked up to Trout Lake. We also had a little debate and it ended up giving us some ideas about the bison problem. But I saw an amazing thing last night because 7 elk were at our front porch no more than 10 feet away. Sadly couldn’t get a picture because it was dark. But at least it didn’t rain like it did the past 2 days. Hopefully I don’t jinx it.

Cincinnati CATC - Shiva - Day 3

We went animal watching, and then we hiked up to Trout Lake. We didn’t see that much wildlife, unfortunately… The hike up was pretty okay. Not that hard. The lake itself was gorgeous. We did another team building project and debated if we should allow bison to roam freely in Paradise Valley. Overall, it was an interesting day!

Cincinnati CATC - Josh - Day 3

Today was so fun, we got to see a lot of animals today, I’m pretty bummed that I didn’t see a bear. But still I had a great time, I really am enjoying the time that I can spend with everyone and I hope they feel the same. My favorite part of the day was when we had the debate at the top of Trout Lake. I am looking forward to climbing the mountain tomorrow. I really don’t know what to blog about today but I’m gonna blog about something, so I’m just gonna say that I really love the job that Ryan, Michelle, Mrs. Clara, Mrs. Laura, Joanna and Jess are doing they are great mentors for this trip. I really enjoy being with these guys.

Cincinnati CATC - Leyxus - Day 3

Today was fun …I had a great time climbing the mountain, it was hot but I had a lot of laughs. I saw a bison which is the same as a buffalo they are really big we saw hundreds them … I saw a lot of elk …I saw a beautiful bald eagle (He really isn’t bald!!) I hiked up to a lake (Trout Lake) we played the debate game …The Ranchers was our team name …I learned something new today …when a mountain looks high up, you should go up the mountain to see what you can’t see from the bottom…. When you get to the top …you will be like “wow I should have done this a long time ago” ….The house that we are staying in is on top of a mountain 1,000 feet …..the view is beautiful. I’ve never seen a view like this before… Hope to have a great time like today ….  :) Oh today still is not over yet something funny is going to happen later on tonight … :)

Cincinnati CATC - Ricki - Day 3

Today was fantastic, although it had its ups and downs. We hiked up to Trout Lake(where we saw the very colorful Western Tanager) and debated Bison issues that are currently going on, and need to be solved. Although I tripped, and was feeling pretty out of it, I still had a great time. It’s really windy outside, but it feels nice. My new pet (stuffed) Bison, Pongo, agrees.

We saw hundreds of Bison today (which I’ve been dying to see) and I took several amazing pictures. I mean, we were so close to these giant animals, it just blows my mind.

While we’re on the topic of animals, we were driving through Mammoth and saw Elks just lying there, in the middle of town. They looked like cats and dogs do in Cincinnati, lazing around in the sun or looking for a tree to snooze under.

All in all, today was a 5/5.

Today was awesome.

Tuesday - Ricki

Today was great. It was fascinating, and enlightening, and everything that I could have hoped for in the Yellowstone experience. We went out to see Old Faithful (which took forever to erupt but was totally worth the wait), but then we got to my favorite part of the trip.

Grand Prismatic was absolutely beautiful. I’m so curious about how the colors get there, and all I wanted to do was jump in and see what was at the bottom (I could never do that, of course, because the thermal feature’s water was super-hot, and I learned that touching and putting things in thermal features have the potential to ruin the beauty forever). I hope Grand Prismatic exists forever, it’s really just too wonderful a thing to go through your life without seeing. I recommend everyone come see GP right now. Grab your car keys, plane tickets, anything, and get over and see this wonderful place.

I also got married to a tree. He saved my life when I fell down a hill. We’re very happy together.
